About Louise Atwill

Bowen Therapy has been in my life since 1989. I was a massage therapist living in Queensland, Australia. My partner at the time, Julian Baker discovered Bowen was far more effective than massage and frequent episodes of severe neck pain became a distant memory.

In 1994, after intensive training, Julian started teaching the Bowen Technique in the UK and together we created the European College of Bowen Studies (now known as the College of Bowen Studies CBS). Running the business, marketing the courses and supporting our students was an incredibly rewarding role but left little time to train as a Bowen therapist.

In 2013 I contracted sepsis and left CBS to focus on my health. It took over two years to regain my previous level of fitness and mobility, an experience which was life changing in my attitude and approach to life.

Fast forward to August 2020. I accompanied newly qualified Bowen practitioner, Cara Baker (my daughter) to a music festival where I spent four incredibly busy days explaining Bowen and booking Cara’s appointments. Seeing countless people respond to Bowen – after just one session – was inspiring. It was time to complete my training!

So, here I am. Back in the Bowen world as a qualified practitioner with a busy clinic. I love my ‘work’. I am excited to support people to live a life without (or with less) pain, increased mobility and reduced stress levels.

I look forward to meeting you too.     Louise
